SECTION 40: Friday, Nov. 6th in ED 315
SECTION 20: Friday, Nov. 27th in ED 315

Holocaust Workshop:
SECTION 10 AND 40: Friday, Nov. 27th, 11:30 to 1:30 in EDUCATION AUDITORIUM.
NOTE: Sec 40 Field Experience Team Meetings will be held at usual time in your same rooms at 9:30 to 11:20 on Fri. Nov. 27th

Sorry but we have to cancel our Digital Story Group gathering scheduled for Monday, Oct. 19th. We are trying to find an alternative date so will let you know soon. Thanks from Julie & Peta.

A message from Lizabeth Nicholls:
As a follow-up to WILD, WET and SOEEA conference, Liz wants you to know that the first of the Fish Ways activities is now available and that the new education pages at CWF go live today. She encourages you to have fun checking out these great online resources.

They are processing student registrations and are designing a new WET certificate so each one of you will be receiving a certificate to include in your professional portfolio.

A special poem for you to read and think about as you prepare for your first day in the field on Wednesday, Oct. 14th. Be sure to write some reflections before your day (what’s going through your mind, what have you done to prepare, what emotions are you experiencing), during the day(quick jot/field notes but do not take any time away from interacting with the children), and after (how are you feeling, what surprised you, what stories did you hear from the children and so much more). Your reflections can be written in your inquiry journal or blog.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING! Enjoy your time with family and friends.

It’s strange,
Almost eerie,

Here is what you’ve been waiting for – the LIST!

Please talk to your teaching partner and make arrangements to contact the teacher at the school listed sometime this week. The best time to call the schools is 8:45, 10:30, 11:45, 2:30 and after 3:30. We know how excited you must be!

Updated Placement List 2009 Note to Anne & Shandi, Section 40: One change has been made to the list posted Tuesday morning. You are placed at St. Augustine School but will only be working with Holly Beitel.

1. Those students who are writing the Dean a thank-you letter are to arrange a time to go and meet with Darlene Solie (email contact: darlene.solie@uregina.ca)

2. Digital Story Group - Meet with Julie & Peta on Monday, Oct. 19th 11:50 to 12:50 (as Section 40 has a 1:00 class) in ED 215. Bring your lunch and we’ll begin our storyboarding and planning. We hope to have a 2 or 3  ‘work’ sessions on Mondays at 4:00 but this is meant to be a fun, small project (so we will not be spending too much time on it) to work on to learn more about digital stories and to highlight our P.L.A.C.E. experience. THANKS! SORRY WE ARE GOING TO HAVE TO RESCHEDULE.

3. Peta has asked if the colour group leaders would please send their group’s  menus, shopping lists, recipes and budgets to Julie and she will post it on either the blog or wiki. If the leaders want to join the wiki and post their own information, they can request to join the wiki and Julie will approve their request (please send Julie an email letting her know that you did request as some of the email addresses used do not indicate who you are)

4. Please return your name tags – we still are missing about 25.

Linda Dodd: “Could you put a note up on your blog to say THANKS to the students in sections 10, 20 & 40 please?  They were great today for Project WILD and on Wednesday for Project WET.  We enjoyed all of our sessions with them and hope that they took away strong resources and ideas for their teaching.  Thanks.”

• Field experience team meetings/labs – information is being added on our wiki. Some teams have been listed and more are coming – continue to check your section and see who your field advisor/lab advisor will be. Please note if there have been any changes to dates/location.

For Project Wild on Friday…You are to come dressed for outdoor activity – mitts, hat/toque, no flip flops, dress in layers. You will be outside for many activities if the weather cooperates. The high temperature is only to be 11 degrees so it’ll be cool.
